I love Kate Spade !!
I love the bags, the clothes, the stationary, I mean everything.
This layout is inspired by Kate Spade with the contrasting black & white, gold accents, bold florals and touches of green.
The weather has become very cold now and suddenly I have been making winter inspired layouts. The first layout was made using the Roller Rink Kit from Studio Calico that I just received in the mail. It is a great kit and the Studio Calico Asterisks Stamps reminded me of snowflakes. I stamped some faint blue asterisks, some solid and some with outlines. I also used some stickers and traced the stickers. My favorite thing about this layout was the mirror/shadow effect in the title which I created by tracing the letter stickers and then placing the stickers above.
I wanted to share a couple of layouts that I made using some new collections but the funny thing is that they couldn’t be more different from each other. The only thing in common is that they are photos of my daughter using instagram photos. One layout is using the new BasicGrey Soleil. Such a gorgeous, soft collection that reminds me more of fabric than paper. I used machine stitching because I felt the papers were so quilt-like.
I am working on several new fall layouts right now on my new Scrapbook work table. Here is one new layout made with Lily Bee Autumn Spice Collection. I have been experimenting a lot with mixed media right now so there is a little bit of misting, some bubble wrap stamping in the corners and machine stitching. I added lots of layering of arrows, some handcut and some mistable arrows.
What do you do when your scrapbooking supplies have taken over the whole room in a haphazard way?
I finally decided that it was time to get organized. Luckily I found a gorgeous table that I can work on and use for storage. I tend to prefer an open storage space because I am a visual person and when things are stored in drawers I forget about them, so this table is perfect. I just needed a few must have storage supplies to go with it. The problem was getting this enormous table home but luckily my Veracruz is perfect for large items. When my husband saw the table in the garage he immediately enquired about how it had gotten there and he was in complete disbelief that I had managed to transport it on my own. Since I documented everything with photos he had to believe me.
I just got home from an amazing family vacation in Disneyworld Florida. It was the children’s first time at Disney and my first time too, so it was a memorable trip for the whole family. The bad part of vacation is all of the work that is waiting for me when I get home and now I have hundreds of new photos to scrapbook. (I guess I shouldn’t put the scrapbooking in the bad category). I am very excited to get my hands on all of the new collections that are coming out after CHA. I wish I could have gone to CHA; one year I think I will have to find a way to organize a vacation around the show.
I am so thrilled to have one of my layouts published in the July 2012 issue of Scrapbook Trends. It is so amazing how they feature scrapbooks pages like they are a piece of art and the set designs they use are spectacular! It is such an honour to be published in such a quality magazine. It has been a little while since I posted because there have been so many family outings that I have had no time for scrapbooking. I forget how busy summer gets. I guess that right now my family is building memories and when I get a chance I will document these special memories.
We are finally starting to have summer-like weather in Toronto, Canada and I have been inspired to create summer layouts. The photos in this layout are from a few years ago and these are the colors that really remind me of summer.
I am obsessed with chevron patterns. I love this blue chevron paper from Webster’s Pages, the Palm Beach Collection but I wanted to add some detail so I hand cut a yellow chevron line and then I machine stitched it. It makes a great accent. I also experimented with watercolors on canvas.
